Charm Friendship Bracelets! I make charms. And i make friendship bracelets. Yet it has only just occurred to me to put the two together! I’m really excited by this new range - so much so that we don’t actually have the anchor in stock at the moment … it’s firmly around my wrist. So far i have a collection of 5 - the Anchor (my favorite), the Heart, the Star, the Horse Shoe and the Starling (which is a bird in case you are having a blonde moment).
Also - if you don’t already know about it, our shop is having an exhibition at the moment for some talented British designers (i have sneakily snuck some of my stuff in there as well), and it is all SO GOOD. If you are in Fleet and you like jewellery which you probably do, definitely stop by and have a look. AND we have a red telephone box in the shop which is AWESOME!

Happy Valentines Day! Awwww how romantic. This layered pendant is someones secret valentines day present - assuming the kids didn’t spill the beans! Too cute. Its the first layered circle by silvertips, and i think i might have to have one for the shop - its pretty awesome. Now to think of some names, maybe i’ll start making themed samples … Harry and Hermione for this one perhaps?

Triple Silvertips Pendant! The first one EVER! and it looks pretty lush if i do say so myself. This took an inordinate amount of effort to polish, buuut it was worth it. The gentleman who ordered this for his wife’s 40th birthday present had his children’s ages put on the back of their fingerprints, and on the back of his there is inscribed “Age 39. Happy 40th!” which i think is hilarious. I love it when people use their imagination with what they want made!

Time lapse video of me making some Silvertips orders. I look like a super caffeinated robot woman, but if you have ever wondered how we put fingerprints into silver - these are the secrets :)

I am waiting for the post man to deliver me some materials so i can get on with what i’m supposed to be doing, but for the moment i am occupying making these little friendship bracelets for the shop. There are probably hundreds of 10 year olds all over the country doing the same thing, but i’m pretty sure mine have got the edge …

I’m pretending to be a graphic designer today.
I am not, by any stretch of the imagination a graphic designer. I have never tried to use inDesign and i am pretty sure that anyone who knows what they are talking about will find my attempts full of mistakes, but hey-ho - hopefully people will get the gist. We make fingerprint Jewellery and it’s pretty darn amazing.

For Mia. Mia is one of the shop owners two daughters and a while ago now she very kindly did this brilliant little self portrait for me so i could have a go at making up a a keyring sample with an illustration on it. I did promise that i would put it on the website and then didn’t get round to it for ages. But i finally put it up today! tah-dah! Thank you Mia. I really want one of these but i think it might be a bit weird to draw a picture for myself. If anyone else wants to draw me something though …

Names and samples …
I am worryingly interested in names. i get to choose all the names to go on the front of the sample silvertips pieces i make up for the shop, and i get very over excited when the time comes to think up some new ones! We get some really unusual names coming through the workshop sometimes. A couple of weeks ago i made up an “Autumn” and and “Ailith” for some customers, neither of which i had ever heard before. I have been a bit dull and stuck to the more mainstream names for the window - although i do seem to have a bit of a thing for the old fashioned…
I actually had a very sweet customer suggest to his pregnant wife that these would be nice names!

Just finished my first pawprint! From a very sweet and very old collie named Sebastian, who had much better manners than my dog Monty.

A little bit about Equinox and me. I started working at Equinox Silver back when i was 17, and Equinox was 3, which seems a very long time ago now. Back then i was a Saturday girl and worked in the shop, cleaning and polishing and helping the customers (and then cleaning and polishing some more). Tim and Anna (the lovely owners) thought they had managed to get rid of me when i left to go to university in 2008, but when i came back 3 years later - degree in hand but entirely unemployed, they offered me Silvertips. Silvertips was their new custom jewellry making business and it is now my baby, and although i still spend much of my time polishing, its things i’ve made this time - which is infinitely more exciting!
